The System Administrators are
responsible for the day to day running of the YorkArts network
for the Faculty of Arts. As a part of this, the System Administrators
identifies and tests new technologies, implementing those that
will provide improved access to the cluster, new functionality,
or new security.
System Administrators provide:
- User administration on Netware and Linux servers
- Manage server base applications
- Installation/configuration of new servers
- Data backup/recovery
- Data/server Security
- Virus management
- Disk space management
- Network troubleshooting
- Implementing new network resources
